Politics and public service
I have been involved with the Liberal Democrats since the Party was founded as is the political party that I feel most reflects my views.
I was a Borough Councillor in Bedford for five years, campaigning on behalf of the residents of my ward.
I have also been heavily involved in developing the Liberal Democrats policy on issues to do with crime, young people, and international affairs. I am a member of the Liberal Democrats national policy making committee.
In the 2005 General Election I was the candidate in Luton North where I increased the share of the vote by over 6%.
Away from party politics, I am a trustee for Elijah Trust, the only UK charity working with the Arab citizens of Israel. Locally I chair Commpowerment, a Bedfordshire based charity committed to enhancing community cohesion.
