Shock Attack at Public Meeting by Sulking Tory MP

Public meetings are just that- advertised in public places and open to any interested person to come along to. Imagine the surprise when one such resident was attacked when she turned up at a meeting in Turvey hoping to hear what was said by the Tory candidate Nadine Dorries. The attack came from the candidate herself. She lashed out at the resident saying, “You’re not from Turvey. This meeting will not go on whilst you’re in the room.” It then took quite a few minutes to get her to change her mind and continue, with much persuasion from the resident.

The meeting had been advertised at bus stops and on lampposts, etc. and could not be considered anything other than public. It was open to all residents in the constituency.

Judith Cunningham, the local resident involved, as well as being a voter is also a local Lib Dem Councillor for Wootton and Stewartby Ward. Cllr Cunningham said, “I was most shocked to have this tirade hurled at me whilst I was sitting in the audience. As this was a public meeting I was there to hear what the candidate had to say. It took some persuasion from me for her to continue. It is a very sorry state of affairs when a candidate holds a public meeting then tries to shout people out of the room.

“Unfortunately residents in Wootton and Stewartby won’t be able to hear the Tory candidate as she is not visiting our villages so as their representative I thought it important I should hear what she had to say.”

Update : Judith got a message from a constituent who wanted to send her flowers, Judith thanked him but said while she would love flowers would he like to contribute to the party instead, constituent told her he would contribute to the party AND send her flowers – they arrived yesterday and were lovely!

Well, I look forward to hearing all about it! Clearly anyone who is not a Tory runs the risk of being thrown out.

She doesn’t fancy herself as Sarah Palin does she? Most of it’s there – inaccuracy, demagogery, a refusal to answer questions and meetings by invitation only.
